Metro FC is proud to announce the hiring of Alex Yi to their coaching staff. Yi will be coaching the U15 Boys Rapids team along with Tony Saliba this upcoming season. In addition to working with Metro FC, Alex will be an assistant coach at the University of Dayton with the men's program. Yi brings a wealth of top level playing experience to the Metro FC staff. Yi played college soccer at UCLA and was  finalist for the Hermann Trophy. The Hermann Trophy is awarded to the nation's best college soccer player. After UCLA, Yi played professionally for Royale Antwerp in the Belgian First Division and finished his pro career in MLS playing for FC Dallas. Yi also played for the U17,U20, and U23 United States National Teams. Metro FC Director Kevin Arcuri says," Alex brings a great deal of professional experience to our players. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and experience will undoubtedly help our players continue to grow." Welcome to Metro FC Alex!

Metro FC is proud to announce the success of three of their teams in early season tournaments. The U10 Boys Rapids, coached by Joe Gross and trained by WSU Head Coach Mike Tracy, won the Thunder United tournament over August 9th and 10th. At the Arsenal Challenge Cup over August 16-17th, the Metro U12 Girl's Rapids won the championship . The team defeated Lexington FC, Eagles SC, and Cincinnati United in group play. In the finals, the U12 Rapids defeated Lexington FC. The team is coached by Jeff Renshaw and trained by Metro FC Director of Coaching, Kevin Arcuri. The U14 Boys Rapids also had some success at the Arsenal Challenge Cup. The team reached the semi-finals of the top division before losing to Worthington Crew Jr's by a score of 3-1. The team is coached by Paul Moore and Chris Clouse and trained by Kevin Arcuri. Congratulations to these fine teams for playing some great soccer!

Metro FC’s All-Ohio Girl’s High School Challenge was once again a big hit with college coaches, players, and spectators. The event was hosted by Metro FC, Alter HS Girl’s Soccer, and Fenwick HS Girl’s Soccer at Delco Park on August 9th. The All-Ohio Challenge drew the area’s top Varsity squads, as well as, some of the best teams in Ohio. In attendance this year were, Alter, Fenwick, Centerville, Beavercreek, Sycamore, Loveland, Brecksville, Toledo St. Ursula, Ursuline, Strongsville, Mt.Notre Dame, Watterson,Westerville North,Fairmont,Springboro,Dublin Coffman, Bexley, and Upper Arlington. In addition to strong teams, the eventb also hosted a number of college recruiters from schools such as University of Dayton, University of Kentucky, Denison, Ohio Northern, and many others. Next year’s event is already in the planning stages and we hope to make it even better!

Congratulations to Metro FC's Jevon Mason and Daniel Colvin for being selected to the USYSA Region II ODP Pool. The Region II Pool consists of the best youth soccer players from the fourteen member states. Both players had an outstanding week of Regional Camp in Rockford,IL. Jevon currently plays for the Metro FC Rapids U15 team coached by Tony Saliba and Daniel plays for the Metro Rapids U16 team coached by Mike Tracy. Metro FC is proud of your accomplishment!
